Support KCG at Borough Council meeting!

  • Mailing address 600 South Broad Street Kennett Square, PA, 19348 United States (map)

We are thrilled to share that Kennett Community Grocer has reached a milestone – after over a year of searching for a suitable site for our co-op grocery store, we think we’ve found it!

We have identified a historical building in the heart of the Borough of Kennett Square
that is the ideal size for the co-op and within walking distance from schools, business offices, and residential areas. Our plans will maintain its beautiful aesthetic even with the renovations required to make it function well as a grocery store.

Now we need your support. We will be presenting our proposal to use this building at an upcoming Borough Council meeting, and it is crucial that we demonstrate strong community backing. We are competing with other businesses for this site, and if our proposal falls through, it could be years before another viable location becomes available. Your presence at this meeting will show the Borough Council the importance of this project to our community.

KCG members and friends showing up to support this project will make a statement and help us highlight for the Borough Council the immense benefits that our co-op grocery store will bring. The mission of the store is to make quality, locally-grown/raised food accessible and affordable for our community. By securing this location, we can create a vibrant community hub for education and engagement around healthy living. Additionally, our co-op will foster economic growth in our region and support local farmers and producers, ensuring that the benefits of our store extend beyond just our immediate neighborhood.

Please mark your calendars and plan to attend this pivotal meeting. Together, we can make Kennett Community Grocer a reality and bring lasting positive change to our community. Thank you for your continued support and commitment.

In Cooperation,
The Kennett Community Grocer Board of Directors
